Caring for Your New Human Hair Wig is a Bit Different than Caring for Synthetic Hair Wigs

Caring for your new human hair wig is a bit different than caring for synthetic hair wigs. We thought it might be helpful to offer you a few tips on proper care.

The first thing to keep in mind is to use gentle motions when washing and conditioning your wig. After you gently detangle the hair using a wig brush, hold the wig in your hands and wet with cool water. Now, work shampoo through the hair from top to bottom in a gentle motion and then rinse with cool water. Work the conditioner in the hair just like you did the shampoo; and again rinse with cool water. You want to gently pat the hair with a towel to remove excess water, but do not twist or wring the hair. The wig should then be placed on a wig stand and allowed to air dry. Now it is time to do a little styling.

You should use a pick comb for curly styles and a wire brush for straight styles. While you brush, start at the ends and work your way to the roots. You can even place your wig on a wig stand and use standard rollers and pin curls. When the curlers come out and the hair cools, you are free to enjoy a night on the town.
